Botox® Treatments from plastic surgeon Dr. Crofts

The Botox treatment procedure was developed to treat visual signs of aging by reducing or removing wrinkles. Common Botox injection areas include horizontal forehead furrows, vertical lines between the eyebrows and “crow’s feet” around the eyes.
BOTOX works by blocking the impulses from the nerve to facial muscles, allowing them to relax. Underlying skin then begins to smooth out. Effects of this procedure typically last three to six months, meaning patients are welcome to repeat the treatment.

Prior to treatment, a cream with local anesthetic with be placed on your skin. Ice is then immediately applied upon completion.
Patients normally return to their normal activites immediately following the procedure. We encourage you to avoid strenuous exercise, application of cosmetics or laying down flat for a minimum of four hours after the injection. We also advise massaging of the injected area for at least 24 hours.
